Annual Courtyard Planting Day April 15, 2016

School's out on Friday April 15th!  So stop by the library 2-3 p.m. to help beautify the library's courtyard!  Every year, this annual living floral display cheers patrons of all ages during the spring and summer months.

Each child who plants an annual in a courtyard planter will get to write their name on a marker stick and place it into the soil to mark the spot to remember where they planed their plant.  Then they can come back later in the season and see how much their plant has grown!

After planting a flower, kids can plant bush bean and dwarf sunflower seeds to take home and watch grow.  They'll also be able to make small garden art using special craft foil.

Coming to a Market Near You!

Librarians and library staff will be visiting the Bull Mountain Farmer's Market this Saturday, June 6th.  We'll be there from 9 a.m. till 2 p.m.  Stop by our booth to sign yourself, your teens, and your kids up for summer reading!  No need to make an extra trip to the library (even though we do love having you stop by to see us) to register for the summer reading program.  We'll have the sign ups right there for you to do while you are out shopping for your local produce and other goodies.  And if you and your family members are already signed up for summer reading, that's okay, please stop by and say "Hi" to us anyways.  We'd love to see you outside of the library building!

Walk ‘n’ Roll to the Library Week, Sept. 7-13

Make the most of the spectacular September weather and our location on the Fanno Creek Trail by walking, biking, scooting or skating to the library between Sunday September 7th and Saturday September 13th. Visit us at the Children’s or Adult Reference Desks, tell us that you walked or rolled (on human-powered wheels) and get a small prize and a big high five!
Curious about the best route? You can find bike maps at the library or on the city’s website, or use your favorite map app or website to get directions.  And check out the city's self-guided tour of new parks and trail projects for another fun route to take!

Let's Go Fly A Kite!

March is here and it's time to fly a kite!

Kids ages 5 and up are invited to come visit the Puett Room on Saturday March 22nd from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. where they can create and design their very own kite.  Then, if the weather cooperates, kites can be taken outside to fly in the library field.

Up, up, and away!!!!!!!!!!
