Mega Crafts!

From 2-4 p.m. artists both young and young at heart will be making useful and beautiful gift worthy projects to take home for the holidays. All supplies provided just bring your imagination and have fun.

Come play with towers and turrets on Saturday August 13th.  Come design your own fantastic architectural structure using cylanders, cardboard, and lots of loose knick-knack parts.   Let your imagination and creativity flow 1:30-3:00 p.m. in the Puett Room.  The possibilities will be endless!  And all ages are welcome to attend too!

There are endless possibilities for making and decorating with beads! Unleash your creative flare and join is in the Puett Room Sunday, July 31 from 1:30-2:30 pm.  Even if you've never beaded before you'll have fun designing your own jewelry and crafts.  All ages welcome just bring your inspiration and creativity!

Valentine Workshop!

You can make little boxes filled with sweet treats, soft felt pillows you stitch yourself, and fancy paper cards. 1:30-2:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 13th!

Cardboard Construction!


What can you make with a cardboard box? Just about anything you can imagine!
Join us this Saturday for cardboard building fun, and learn a few 3D construction techniques along the way. We'll be making games and maps using relief techniques, standing cardboard animals using slots, rockets with cones and tubes, and towering it up with box upon box, complete with embellishment. Come to the Puett Room on Saturday, April 11, 1:30-2:30 p.m. All ages welcome. See you there!

Poem Trees

Let's celebrate Arbor Week and National Poetry Month by painting a tree in the style of Douglas Florian. Come to the Puett Room from 1:30-2:30 on Sunday, April 5.

We'll use mixed-media on brown paper bags to create a one-of-a-kind tree. If you're feeling extra inspired, write a poem about your tree! Dress to get messy at this all ages event.

Do you LOVE hearts???  And do you LOVE crafts???  If so, we're hosting special craft time full of nothing BUT heart crafts!  So come celebrate the day of love and friendship with heart inspired crafts in the Puett Room on Saturday February 14th from 1:30-2:30 p.m.  You'll have an hour to make things with love, then give them away to a special person or loved one!

Let's Go Fly A Kite!

March is here and it's time to fly a kite! 

Kids ages 5 and up are invited to come visit the Puett Room on Saturday March 22nd from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. where they can create and design their very own kite.  Then, if the weather cooperates, kites can be taken outside to fly in the library field.

WEEKEND ADVENTURE: Winter Wonderland Crafts


While the weather outside is frightful, come inside and do something delightful!  We've got some wonderful winter themed crafts the whole family will enjoy.  Beat your own wintery fun-foam necklaces, paint winter themed suncatchers, assemble snowman tubbey dolls, plus much, much more!  All the winter wonderland fun will be happening in the Puett Room on Saturday, December 28th, 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

It's MEGA CRAFT time!

It's back and it's better than ever!  Everyone's FAVORITE Craft party, MEGA CRAFT will be here on Sunday December 1st, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Burgess Community Room!

For two whole hours, see how creative you can get creating unique crafts to keep for yourself or to giveaway as gifts.  Here's some of the crafty highlights:

MEGA CRAFT IS COMING!

It's that time of year when things get busy....and when Youth Services staff here at the library get busy planning for our ever so popular MEGA CRAFT!!!  I just got asked when it will be happening this year, so I thought I'd write a post sharing the good news...it will be here before we know it!  And without further adieu, MEGA CRAFT 2013 will be held on SUNDAY DECEMBER 1ST, 1:30-3:30 p.m.  It's open to all ages.  So.....mark your calendars now!  It will be a fun-filled and one heck of a crafty time!  Don't miss it!

It's Pumpkin Time!

 
Kids ages 4 & up are invited to a pumpkin craft weekend adventure!  On Saturday October 12th, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. we'll be making pumpkin masks, ornaments, magnets, and perhaps, just maybe, there might me some pumpkin decorating involved too!  So come celebrate the harvest season with this bright orange ornamental object of fall.  And be sure to come prepared to get messy!!! (with permanent markers that is!)
