Thank You for your Mitten Tree Donations!

Throughout the frosty cold month of December, Library patrons generously decorated the Mitten Tree with over 260 sixty hats, scarves and gloves!

The warm and toasty items were delivered to the Good Neighbor Center just before the last winter snow and ice storm.

Many thanks to everyone who participated in the 20th annual Mitten Tree donation program!

Support the Library Friends!

Many of you know that the Friends of the Tigard Library offers an annual book sale (usually twice a year).  But did you know that in addition to supporting the Friends at their book sales, you can support them year round using Amazon!  That's right!  You can shop at their Store on Amazon.com by following this link.  Then simply log in by using your own Amazon account.  OR you can support the Friends when you shop through their AmazonSmile link. Then Amazon will donate 0.5% of the price of your eligible AmazonSmile purchases to the Friends!  Can't remember the addresses of all of those hyperlinks?  No problem, you can just go to the Friends of the Tigard Library website and and click on "SHOP" to be linked to the proper Amazon shopping links.

Do you have used books to donate for the October book sale?  There's still time to donate them.  Just bring them into the library and drop them off at the Circulation Desk.  We will even give you a tax receipt if you like.   For details on what donations are accepted, check out the Friends of the Tigard Library Donation Page.

17th Annual Mitten Tree

2013 marks the 17th annual Mitten Tree!  Stop by the Puett Room (located inside the Chidren's Room) anytime during the month of December to help decorate the branches of the mitten tree.  Donations of new scarves, mittens, and hats will be accepted.  At the end of the month, all items will be given to the Good Neighbor Center and they will distribute the goods to homeless families in our area and in Washington County.  The Mitten Tree is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Tigard Library.
