Weekend Story Times

I am so happy to announce that we will be doing another weekend story time series! Join us Saturdays, September 17 through October 22 at 10:30 in the Puett Room for family story time! Bring the whole gang for stories, songs and super-duper silliness! Stay and play or participate in special activities after the program.

It's Time for a Story Time Break!

Starting Monday August 22, 2016, we will be on a two-week story time break.  If you forget that we are taking some time off, no worries!  We'll have the toys out and available to play with in the Puett Room.  We will start our fall programs and story times the day after Labor Day, on Tuesday Septemer 6th.

Weekend Story Time

Attention: Families who cannot make it to story times during the weekdays, join us on the weekend instead! Even if you missed the first one in July, join us for the second one on Saturday, August 20 from 10:30 to 11:30. We're going to start out by making animal masks, and then weather permitting, take our stories outside! Get ready to run, jump and play with stories and songs. We will head outside promptly at 10:45, so if you want a chance to make your mask, be sure to be punctual. We'll start out in the Puett Room.

Story Time Break

We will be on a Story Time break May 31-June 10th.  During this time, Youth Services staff will be out and about the community visiting schools and promoting the annual Summer Reading Program that begins on June 1st.  If you want to come to the library, we will have toys available to play with in the Puett Room during the week.

It's the Last Week of Spring Story Time!

Parents and Caregivers--just a reminder that this week, May 23-27 will be our last week of our Spring Story Time session.  We will take a 2-week break starting May 31st so we can get ready for promoting the summer reading program at local schools.  And don't forget...Summer Reading sign-ups start on June 1st!

Weekend Story Times!

Finally, a story time for working families! For those who cannot make it to story time during the weekdays, we are excited to announce that we will be holding a special series of story times for all ages on Saturdays at 10:30 in the Puett Room. Bring the whole family to enjoy:

Bunny Hop!

Come have some hoppin’ fun in the Library Puett room Monday, March 21st from 1:30-2:30 pm. The Beatrix Potter Society will present a lively short story followed by fun bunny crafts and activities for all ages.

Story Time Break, February 22-26

We are on a story time break this week, February 22-26.  But that doesn't mean you can't come visit the library this week!  We will have TONS of boxes of many shapes and sizes ready to be played with in the Puett Room.  This will be a great opportunity for youngsters to practice their imaginative play.  Stop by and play, then come back for story times next week, beginning on February 29th!

Fall Story Time Sessions Begin Monday!

Our Fall Story Time Session begins on Monday August 31st.  We will maintain the same schedule as we did during the summer.  Here's the fall session schedule:

Book Babies, for ages 0-12 months
Mondays at 10:15 a.m.

Fun For Ones, for ages 12-24 months
Tuesdays at 10:15 a.m. & 11:15 a.m.

Toddler Time, for ages 24-36 months
Wednesdays at 10:15 a.m. & 11:15 a.m.

Family Story Time, for ages 0-6
Fridays at 10:15 a.m. & 11:15 a.m.

Story Time Break, August 17-28

Our summer story time break is about to begin.  We will be on a break starting August 17th and ending August 28th.  We will resume our regular story time schedule on August 31st.  Also note that the library will be closed on Monday September 7th in observance of Labor Day, but we will continue the next day on Tuesday September 8th.  Have a safe holiday and we will see you soon!

Walk 'N' Words Story Time

The City of Tigard's strategic plan is all about being active and living interconnected lives.
What better way to get action and feel interconnected than by coming to a walking story time. We'll start in Puett Room and head down the nature path behind the library. We'll go on a bear hunt, hop like frogs and much more, all while wearing animal masks and shaking music shakers made by participants before the story time.

Summer Story Times

Now that we've been on a two-week story time break, it's time to get back into the game!  Our summer story times will resume on Monday June 8th.  We will continue to keep our regular Monday through Friday schedule as follows:

Book Babies Ages 0–12 months
Mondays, 10:15–10:45 a.m.

Fun for Ones Ages 12–24 months
Tuesdays, 10:15–10:45 a.m. AND 11:15–11:45 a.m. (Two sessions) 

Toddler Time Ages 24–36 months   
Wednesdays, 10:15–10:45 a.m. AND 11:15–11:45 a.m. (Two sessions) 

Family Story Time Ages 0–6 years
Fridays, 10:15–11 a.m. AND 11:15 a.m.–Noon (Two sessions) 

Story Time Break

Attention all story time attendees!!

We will be on a 2-week story time break, Monday May 25 through Friday June 5th as we make final preparations for the annual summer reading program!  We will have toys available in the Puett Room for little ones to play with during the week.  See you the week of June 8th!

Annual Story Time Survey

For those of you parents who attend our story times, or wished you could attend, we have a story time survey available, starting today, running through May 22nd.  We are interested in knowing which story times you attend, and if you don't attend any, what dates and times would work for you.  This is just a quick, half sheet survey with a few questions.  You will find it inside the children's room.  All surveys are annonymous.

Fall Story Time Break

This is just a reminder that we will be on a one-week story time break November 24-28, 2014.  You and your little ones are still welcome to stop by the Puett Room and play with toys!  We will be back in session starting on December 1st!  Click here to see our winter story time schedule!

5th Annual Costume Parade

Come one, come all! The 5th Annual Family Story Time Costume Parade just so happens to fall on Halloween itself this year! Join us on Friday, October 31 at 10:15 or 11:15 for a fun-filled Halloween story time to be followed by a costume parade throughout the library. This is the one day a year that I do not limit the amount of people who attend. Who's going to turn away a kid in a costume? Not me!

Story Time Break! Aug. 18 to Sept. 1

Now that summer is wrapping up, we will be on a two-week story time break starting August 18th.  The fall session of story times will begin on Tuesday September 2nd. 

Summer Story Times Begin

Well, our two-week story time break has come to a close.  Youth librarians visited local schools and told hundreds upon hundreds of students about the summer reading program happening at the library.  We are now ready to begin our summer session of story times!  We will continue with our regular schedule of:
