Mega Crafts!

Mark Sunday, November 27th on your calendar and bring the entire family for some serious crafting fun in the Burgess Community Room!  

From 2-4 p.m. artists both young and young at heart will be making useful and beautiful gift worthy projects to take home for the holidays. All supplies provided just bring your imagination and have fun.

Imagination in a Box!

We are on a story time break this week, but that doesn't mean you can't bring the whole family to the Puett Room any time during open hours for some open-ended, Imaginative box play February 22-26! The Puett Room will be filled to the brim with boxes of all shapes and sizes just waiting for you!

Unstructured play with cardboard without an end result builds creativity, imagination and resourcefulness. It's inexpensive fun that will keep your child and you engaged for hours and hours of mindful play!    

School's Out Drop-in Mondays, February 15

Stop by the library February 15 from 2-4 for some Origami fun for Everyone!

Try your hand at Japanese paper-folding.  Members of Tigard High School's Japanese National Honor Society will show you how to make simple, fun origami pieces.

What Fun Washi Tape

Looking for some fun that will stick? Join us December 7 from 1:30-2:30 for What Fun Washi Tape! We’ll make bookmark people, garlands, decorate journal covers and much more! This program is best for ages 5 and up.

2014 Mega Crafts Workshop

STEAM Saturday

Here at STEAM Saturday, our wish is to make science fun. What could be more fun than mini-marshmallows and toothpicks? Making stuff out of mini-marshmallows and toothpicks!

The directions can be found here. While the directions call for teams, this project can be done individually. There is no end to the creative structures your child can make. If you are concerned about the safety issues that go with toothpicks, simply use uncooked spaghetti noodles broken down to the length of a toothpick.

Have fun with this full-STEAM ahead activity.

Valentime Fun with Junie B.

Are you looking for some Valentine's Day fun?  Look no further! Everyone's favorite kindergartener, Junie B. Jones has some special "Valentime's Day" activities available online, inspired by Junie B. Jones and the Mushy Gushy Valentime.  Share a print and cut Valentime with someone special.  Or print, cut, and assemble your very own Valentime Mailbox to collect all Valentine's Day greetings.  These activities will be sure to please!

Back to School With Seuss!

What time is it?  It's Seuss Time! (And back to school time too!) Join in the back to school fun by inspiring your child’s curiosity.
